That seems to have worked, but at some point over hte last few hours the update was installed by itself again and the flickering is back worse that ever! Should i upgrade again, this issue will have to be resolved. Click restart and the flashing screen is fixed. *In step 7 you can type the location of the file if you know the drive letter of your thumb drive. Either press the up arrow to the left or the search & nav box or scroll through organize until you see This PC. The only problem I had was that the flashing was also interfering with me typing msconfig. When your system restarts, select Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup settings > Restart. Ah well!
