Android Icons Disappear After Reboot
Press and hold the "Power" button, then select "Restart". I had this issue on my EVO 4G - finally boiled down to this - apparently (per 'experts'), the Sense overlay was loading before the microSD was mounted, and that was I just had to drag some applications to the Dock again to make it like it was. Also, you should "clear defaults" (on that same page). This morning, out of the blue, (no programs installed for week now) and no changes to the computer of which I am aware, the Quick Launch icons themselves do not appear. I have NO SD card, I upgraded from 1.6 to 1.8, re-installed Google and have not applied the 1.6 UnfiedStorageUpdate previously. Yes, in my case, the apps store is working, and I can open the apps of which the icons disappear after the restart... If the missing icons are for apps installed on the SD card, it's probably because when you reboot, the launcher restarts before the SD card apps get mounted.
