During the format, you get a "Formatting..." indication in the Disk Status box, but no progress bar and you can't really do anything else. I've tried specifying about 20+ backup superblocks I obtained through newfs -N for the device. But we were disappointed to discover that when you connect a drive for the first time, the NSLU2 insists on formatting that drive, destroying any data you've stored there. Thanks again! I get various "bad superblock" and "magic number wrong" messages. I use iTunes from the PC mostly to manage the songs on the NSLU2 but sometimes also to stream music to the SoundBridge (mainly to test VisualMR's iTunes-compatibility). darksquirrel has a good point about the size of the enclosure. I want to know this before I invest in a Roku Soundbridge M1001. Is there a USB/Firewire switch anywhere on the device? Usually I use mt-daapd on the NSLU2 to stream music directly from the NSLU2 since I don't want the PC to be always on.
