a worrying log was produced, showing what looked like multiple virus entries. and delete the file C:\WINDOWS\sys.reg Now navigate to: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Search Assistant\ACMru\5603 and do the same thing for winshow.dll Run HijackThis again.
