Ubuntu does not automatically log you in as Administrator the way that Windows does. NOBODY should ever be subjected to such harassment by their own computer, when the system knows exactly who you are! Thanks I was close, drawback to doing very little in X I suppose... Load XP2. we have existing 2007 infrastructure, but I am building from the ground up to make it more scalable.

Getting locked out of files on your own system while you are logged in may be an understandable cause for most people who aren't Linux devs! Some files default to "owner access only" on new installations, and you need to be root to access them and modify them. that's 'cd' second, you don't have to cd to the file to edit it... the folder now is just a waste space and even the guy who gave me the ftp space says that he can't fix it either, he doesn't know how to..
