July 11, 2012 Dave That's a bummer. Bios now does not list the hdd at all. Ok, went out and bought an OCZ SATA3 SSD for primary boot drive, as well as a WD SATA3 HDD as storage drive. Bios Won't Detect Hard Drive Cheapest is like 72 bucks.

December 23, 2012 Cristu Rares yea it's a custom build i solve the problem i use a jumper on the new 1tb hdd to make it slave and it works, i Hard Disk Not Detected In Bios How To Recover Data But of course I would prefer to put it inside and connect it with SATA. Take it to your local electronics shop and they'll give you a replacement (Radio Shack, Best Buy, etc….). Check this.

Formatted the 750GB disk, did a clean install of Mavericks and moved a bunch of my stuff across from the 500GB.
